PostDose
GLP-1 medications change how patients feel after every injection. Generic meal plans don't account for that. PostDose does.

The problem
GLP-1 medications — semaglutide, tirzepatide, and their variants — are transforming how millions of people manage weight and metabolic health. But they come with a predictable side effect profile: nausea on dose day, appetite suppression in the days that follow, and a gradual return of hunger as the cycle resets.
Most patients are handed a generic meal plan and told to eat less. That advice ignores the biology entirely. Eating a high-calorie meal on dose day when nausea is at its peak is not just unpleasant — it undermines adherence and makes patients feel like they are failing when the medication is actually working.
PostDose was built on a single insight: if you know where a patient is in their injection cycle, you can predict what they should eat. The product needed to make that prediction automatic, personalized, and effortless.
What we built
A full-stack adaptive meal planning platform. Six core features, one coherent system, built around the GLP-1 injection cycle.
Dose tracking
Patients log every injection — date, dosage, and details — and visualize their full dose history at a glance. The system uses this data to determine exactly where in the cycle the patient is at any given moment. Everything downstream depends on this anchor.
Symptom logging
Patients track nausea, appetite, energy, and other symptoms after each dose. Over time, the system maps each patient's personal symptom pattern against their injection schedule — building a profile that makes future meal recommendations increasingly accurate.
Smart recipes and cycle awareness
55+ recipes tagged by symptom compatibility. Gentle, anti-nausea options on dose day. Bland, small portions in early recovery. Balanced meals mid-phase. Calorie-dense, hearty options when hunger returns. The right food at the right moment in the cycle — automatically surfaced.
Personalized engine
Meal ratings after each suggestion feed back into the recommendation engine. The more a patient uses PostDose, the more accurately it predicts what will work for them specifically. Generic meal plans get replaced by a personal tolerance profile built from real data.
The result
Patients using PostDose report fewer nausea episodes, better adherence, and a stronger sense of control over their GLP-1 journey. The product turns a predictable medication side effect into a structured, manageable routine — and gets smarter with every injection cycle.

"I used to dread dose day because I never knew what to eat and always felt worse after. PostDose took that decision off my plate entirely. I just open the app and it tells me exactly what to make."
The stack
Built as a full-stack web application with a personalization engine that improves with every logged dose and meal rating. Designed to be fast, mobile-first, and usable on the day of injection when patients feel their worst.
The takeaway
The best health apps are not information tools — they are behavior tools. PostDose does not teach patients about GLP-1 side effects. It removes the decision entirely. The right meal appears at the right moment. The patient does not have to think.
Building a system that gets smarter with use requires a data model that captures the right signals from day one. The injection cycle, the symptom log, and the meal rating are not separate features — they are a feedback loop. Getting that architecture right before writing the first component is what made the personalization engine possible.
